A Christmas Carol

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love Christmas and seeing my family. One of my favorite things about Christmas is seeing the looks on other people's faces when they see what I got them. I remember two years ago for Christmas my parents got us tickets to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Someone else babysat my younger brother, so it was just my sister and I. We went to see it the day after Christmas. This was just after Marcus Theaters had finished their renovations, so we were sitting in the new reclining seats in the theater. I was also very excited because all of the other Star Wars movies had been out before I was born, and I wasn't able to see them in the theaters. Last year I went with my mom, sister, and grandma to see The Nutcracker Ballet at Governors State University. There was a Sugar Plum Party where the cast members took pictures with people. There were also games and snacks. I had a really fun time and my grandma got me a pair of DIY nutcracker earrings. We have a tradition in my house and on Christmas Eve we get to open one present. I have a lot of favorite movies, but a few of my Christmas favorites include A Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, Elf, The Grinch, and A Christmas Story. Elf is my dad's favorite Christmas movie. I love singing and listening to Christmas music on the radio this time of the year. I also like going to see the Festival of Lights in Chicago. The festival always has vendors of free food and activities for us to do. Even though sometimes it is freezing cold, I still love going. Sometimes they might even have hot chocolate! Which is one of my favorite drinks on Christmas. The Brookfield Zoo also has a thing called Holiday Magic each year where they have activities for families to do. Some activities include the animals. They have magic shows sometimes and you're able to decorate and eat cookies at BZ Redhots. What I love most about the holidays is that they bring families together. I also like to watch the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. I think Christmas brings out the best in people, and it makes me feel encouraged to help others during the Christmas season.
